Why is there no strict gun control after NIU, Virginia Tech, et al?

I don't think its the schools fault. It's not their fault gun dealers sold a couple of nutcases guns. What do you want them to do install metal detectors and search you EVERY TIME you come in to the building? If so we should do that in everyplace in the city! and then we can install cameras everywhere and then.....sarcasm.Why is there no strict gun control after NIU, Virginia Tech, et al?
Because te gun lbby (backed by the NRA) has bought off politicians by contributing big $$$$ to their campaigns.

Money talks, common sense walksWhy is there no strict gun control after NIU, Virginia Tech, et al?
There are stricter gun laws. Schools and colleges are all now gun free zones. Meaning not even qualified people with concealed gun permits can carry a weapon on campus. This would make good sense if only it were the people who have permits to carry guns were the ones gunning down innocent people. The only thing it does is make it harder for the campus police to get someone in who can shot the killer, thus giving the gunman MORE time to kill. The monster who pulled of the latest school shooting had time to reload. It's ridiculous.
Do you really think gun control would have stopped that dude from getting a gun? Why do people think gun control is the answer? Do you think criminals go to gun stores and buy their guns? No they don't. If someone really wants a gun they can get one no problem. We dont need more gun control, that would just make it harder for law abiding citizens to get guns for recreational shooting and self defense.
Because people kill people. And its ou 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. Do you want to change the constitution? We SHOULD take care of the crazy lunatics of our society. Cho should have been in a mental institution. There were many many signs that he was crazy and in need of help.
Increased gun control is NOT the answer.
Gun ownership is a constitutional right. The best way to stop incidents like these are to start holding those who provide guns to minors and unstable teenages as a co-conspirator to the crimes they commit. I believe that we have an absolute right to gun ownership, but we also have an absolute responsibility to keep guns out of the hands of children and mentally unstable people. Start charging some of these parents with accessory to murder and I'm sure it will curb the problems more effectively than making guns unavailable to responsible citizens.
Because although nobody absolutely NEEDS a gun, we are guaranteed the right to own one by the Bill of Rights (unless we have been convicted of a felony, I believe). I own 3 guns, all of which for hunting. To be honest, gun control would be impossible to enforce, there'd be a huge black market following.

EDIT: Sara, that's not true, my sister attends NMU and they are allowed to own guns and have them on campus. They are to be turned into the Campus Safety office, but a student can take it out with prior notice.
