Gun Control has it promoted or discouraged the types of events that has happened at Virginia Tech?

I'm starting to think that the young man and those like him at Virginia Tech and Colombine, may have hesitated if they knew that there was a very good chance that some of those he was attempting to kill were carrying guns as well.

At the very least,I would bet if some of those students or professors were carrying it would have reduced the amount of those fatally shot.

Do you think that you would feel more at ease if you knew your childs classroom teacher, principal were trained and armed to defend against an attacker?

At this point those who are intending on using weapons for crimes have them accessable ( legally or illegally) and we can't always rely on police protection.Gun Control has it promoted or discouraged the types of events that has happened at Virginia Tech?
Here are some facts that might shed light on this,

Laws do not stop crimes, that is why crimes are committed by criminals, they do not obey laws.

This person could not have legally purchase the weapons, he already broke the law when he did it.

He lived in a dorm, if you have you will know everyone, and I mean everyone knew he had weapons yet they said nothing about it.

The police do not prevent crimes, they arrest criminals.

The univesity does not let people bring weapons on the campus, so no student or faculty could have prevented this. Had this violation of the second amendment not been in place perhaps a teacher or student could have mitigated the numbers of deaths.

You cannot prevent this type of behavior and to believe you can means you will continue to keep your head in the sand.Gun Control has it promoted or discouraged the types of events that has happened at Virginia Tech?
You are right,I hope that the families of the deceased will sue the pant's of the Admin at Virginia Tech for lack of appropiate protection.
I have this theory! If there were six witness's to the commission of a crime where a firearm is being used, even if only in a threatening manner, there should be six empty guns.

I figure it would not take the criminal element in our society very long to learn that when good citizens shoot back, on a no tolerance for gun crimes in addition to our laws. It will not take very long before we can put the guns back under lock and key, because we will have eliminated that element from our society.

With all the video surveillance today, it should not take long to sort out the situation, so that good citizens do not have to sit one day in jail.
The state and the university both had the chance to eliminate the gun ban on campus in the past year after students asked them to. The university spokesman celebrated the defeat of the bill which would have eliminated the ban by saying ';I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus.'; Yes, one well-placed bullet could have stopped this crime in seconds. The university denied students and employees an effective means of protection and should be sued for their negligence.
Promoted, it has been all over the news station how easy it is to get the darn things. Movies show the power you have over others. It is giving people that think they have no other option to do this sort of thing.

I hate to say it but most people get mindless when they watch the news or movies.

Just think of the extra funds needed for the GUN training of school faculty, they have enough to do.

It is cheaper to hire off duty police.
Yes. Or fold up the public education system completely. College students should be allowed to conceal and carry as well.
Gun control + rampaging student = kiss your a ss goodbye because you have to wait for the cops.

Legislative respect for the 2nd Amendment + rampaging student = order restored within minutes.

Why are we denying law-abiding citizens the right to defend themselves?
